Introduction
Every child has a story inside them, waiting to be told. D.U.F.E. Stories is an exciting initiative designed to enable young minds to express their creativity through storytelling. Whether it’s an original creation or inspired by one of our prompts, children of all ages are invited to craft their own tales, which will be beautifully printed by Tangerine Carp. D.U.F.E. stories celebrate the unique voices and imaginative tales of our children.
- Encourage creative thinking and storytelling skills among children.
- Develop writing abilities and enhance vocabulary.
- Foster a love for reading and writing.
- Provide a platform for children to share their stories with a wider audience.
Story Guidelines
- Age Group:
- Participants can be of any age, as long as the concept is their own.
- Story Length:
- Each story must be no more than 500 words.
- Each story will be told on 6 x A4 pages.
- Format:
- Stories can be in any style that effectively tells a clear story with a beginning, middle, and end.
- Open Sans font size 20 is recommended for typed submissions.
- Stories should be written in English and presented on A4 page size.
- Please send the story as a .pdf to hello@tangerinecarp.co.uk.
- Themes:
- Stories can explore any theme the child feels passionate about, such as adventure, friendship, fantasy, or mystery.
- Check out our inspiration page if you need a hand with anything.
- Originality:
- Submissions must be the original work of the child. Plagiarism is not acceptable.
- Parental help is encouraged, but the concept should come from the child’s mind.
- Illustrations:
- Illustrations are welcome to accompany the stories, adding a visual dimension to the tale.
Submission Process
- Format:
- Stories should be typed and sent as a .pdf document. Ensure the child’s name, age, and title for the story are included.
- Deadline:
- All entries must be submitted by the end of the month to hello@tangerinecarp.co.uk
- Deadlines and details may differ for seasonal submissions.
- Submission:
- Stories must be emailed to hello@tangerinecarp.co.uk only.
Selection and Publication
- All stories will be compiled into a beautifully illustrated collection, printed by Tangerine Carp, subject to suitability.
- If we feel that story needs a bit more work we will let you know to get it perfect for publication.
- All participants will receive a certificate of participation. Copies of the book will be available for purchase at www.tangerinecarp.co.uk.
- Participants retain the rights to their own story.
- By submitting a story participants agree to have their work published by Tangerine Carp. Full terms and conditions can be found here.
