Turn Your Pupils Into Published Authors

A ready-to-teach 6-session storytelling programme that boosts writing confidence, meets new government framework and raises funds for your school.

Six Sessions. One Published Book. Zero Upfront Cost.

Our structured 6 x 1-hour programme is a fresh take on story-writing in class. It takes pupils step by step from character creation to a finished 150 word story with twists and turns along the way. Then we turn their work into a printed book for families to buy and treasure.

Publish Any Project

If you’d love to get involved but can’t fit all six sessions into your timetable, don’t worry, any creative project can become a book.

Turn history work into diaries, write up science investigations, transform geography topics into poems, or combine art and writing into a class showcase.

And it’s not just for schools – youth clubs, Scouts, Guides, and other community groups can take part too.

Whatever your group creates, we’ll proofread, compile, and design it into a beautiful book that families can buy, helping raise funds for your school or organisation.

Raise Funds While You Teach

This project is designed to be the simplest, most rewarding fundraiser your school runs:

  • You Keep 50%: Your school takes a massive 50% cut of every sale. This is an effortless way to inject significant funds directly into your PTA or literacy budget.
  • Zero Cost to Start: Get the whole project off the ground for absolutely nothing! We don’t charge you a penny to create the book.
  • We Do The ‘Boring Stuff’: You supply the files, and we take it from there. Forget about fiddling with layouts, proofing errors, or formatting. We handle the entire publishing process, letting you focus on teaching.

Simple Process, Big Impact

Once the project is underway, the books are available for pre-order on our website and ready to purchase the moment they’re complete. No inventory, no risk, just effortless profit.

How Much Could You Raise?

We tailor our programmes to meet the unique needs of your school. To provide a clear illustration of the fundraising potential, the table below shows an example of funds that could be raised. These figures are based on a two-form year group, with 30 pupils per class. One book is produced for each year group.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How much teacher preparation time is needed?
Minimal. Each session includes a ready-to-teach plan, pupil workbook, and teacher notes. Teachers can deliver the programme straight from the pack with no extra planning.

2. How long does the programme last?
Six one-hour sessions, flexible for half-term projects, enrichment weeks, or weekly creative writing slots.

3. What age group is it suitable for?
Best suited to Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6), but can be adapted for mixed-ability groups, upper KS1 with teacher support or older students.

4. Is it aligned with the new DfE Writing Framework?
Yes. The programme develops composition, transcription, editing and presentation – key strands of the 2025 framework – through talk, planning, drafting and revising.

5. How does the publishing and fundraising element work?
Once stories are complete, Tangerine Carp publishes a professional-quality school anthology. Each book sold raises funds. Schools keep 50% of all profits, with no upfront cost.

6. What if we can’t fit all six sessions in?
No problem. Any of the sessions can be delivered as stand-alone creative writing workshops. You can still submit pupils’ work for publication.

7. Can we publish other student writing instead of following the full programme?
Absolutely. Schools are welcome to submit any creative writing or art project – from class stories to poetry or topic-linked pieces – and Tangerine Carp will publish it in a custom school anthology. You can still take part in the fundraising and profit-share scheme, even without using our framework.

8. What materials are included?
Teacher guide, printable pupil workbook, templates for writing and illustration, plus optional certificates and cover art for the published book.

9. What support do teachers receive?
Email support and optional online CPD videos introducing the structure and classroom delivery tips.

10. Can community groups or after-school clubs take part?
Absolutely. The programme works equally well for youth groups, libraries, and after-school writing clubs.
